Fall ’04 Bonus Point Series Races – 10/2004 through 11/2004:

Several exhibition races were run in the Fall and early Winter 2004 thanks to some decent weather and driver interest. Due to school, some of the Summer regulars cold not attend, so we counted these races as a second season, or an addendum separate from the Summer series, which traditionally begins with the first Galletta’s race of the year (in June) and ends with the Galletta’s Klassic Championship Race (usually in late September). Matt, Chris and Ed divided the wins of these 2nd season races, but in Chris’ win, he took out his frustration of the fastest qualifying #8 breaking down in the Klassic in a dominant, blowout, pull-away win, something he felt would’ve happened if it didn’t falter! (Later on, it was discovered to have a misfiring casting imperfection and was never fully repaired. These were the days when the karts were all box stock and only bored out for refreshed power when worn.)

Chris Stevens enjoyed the #8’s REVENGE!

The Fall ’04 races saw the debut of the Wild Woolly Mammoth Werewolf, Flying-Flippin-Fred Collins, who’s wild-man racing style, loud noises, gestures and improbable wrecks led to a new era of fun for the Galletta’s Karting Club. Here he was caught on camera before and after a late November race in the Galletta’s Greenhouse Go-Kart garage in these videos!

As always, if we find videos in our storage, we digitally transfer and upload them as soon as we find them, so always check back with *any* of our old pages. These 2004 videos were located and uploaded in 2021!

Scoring Notes:

  • Also, because of a lack of available scorekeepers, and the fact that only the top three finishing positions were known, some drivers were scored with an average of 96 points per race. The top two or three in each race were recorded successfully every time.
  • If there are any errors here, please let me know.
  • Also, this section may be revised in the future if the tapes are located and re-scored properly; but, IMO, it really isn’t necessary, as these are bonus point races.
  • All of the points series on this page, plus the totals of every year of Galletta’s Super Yard Karting Speedway, are combined into an All-Time Points list [found on this page.]
