Galletta’s Go-Kart Speedway 2006 Event #14 & 15 results:
Sunday, September 10th, 2006 (40-lap Feature)
Saturday, September 16th, 2006 (50-lap Feature)
Sorry for the lack of updates, folks. But when we only have 9 racers each for only two races (what?! Why so few?!), and when Supplement Boy Mattie-Jo Stevens effortlessly dominates/owns/rules/schools/destroys the competition (easily I might add) with his brand-new Ogre/Ogre Jr. Chassis #33 Galletta’s Go-Kart, then ol’ Chrusher here gets a little tired of updating. I love it when tons of racers attend and when the competition tough and is even. With many people quitting before Klassic and having no-shows, the racing gets a little old. Oh well… KLASSIC time is here and here comes the update. Watchoutnow…

POINTS SCORING SYSTEM IS IN RULES SECTION!
Each heat and feature is started in a handicap order, reversed from points-per-event (low-to-high).
Inexperienced drivers with less than 10 races and wreck-prone drivers start in the back regardless of points.
Points are scored based on finishing positions in heats and features (with bonus points for each feature lap in the top 3 spots).
(A”*” in win category means a shared tie, a “*” in name category means track championships.)

IMPORTANT NOTICES:
THE 12TH ANNUAL GALLETTA’S GO-KART KLASSIC IS NEXT! THIS RACE DECIDES THE CHAMPIONSHIP! IF YOU DON’T COME TO THIS RACE, THEN YOU ARE NOT A REAL RACER! BE THERE OR BE SQUARE!!!

The 12th Annual Galletta’s Go-Kart Klassic IS NEXT!!!
THIS SATURDAY, September 23rd, 2006!
EVERYBODY IS INVITED to Galletta’s Greenhouse & Speedway this Saturday, September 23rd, 2006 for our eleventh annual Go-Kart Klassic! If you have a yard kart/racing go-kart with a stock 5hp motor, you are allowed to attempt to qualify the race, but anybody is allowed to attend and watch.

1. 12pm the festivities will begin with time trial preparations, cookout, and pose-with-kart pictures for website profiles.
2. As soon as all (or most) of the top drivers have arrived, we will be taking time trials (in order of total points; listed below) to determine the starting grid for the biggest race of the season. Come early to reserve your spot, or we’ll start without you.
3. The race will be a minimum of 130 laps, and it may be raised to 150 or more depending on how man drivers attend and how quickly the qualifying is concluded. We are aiming at a 2-3pm start if all goes well.
4. It is likely that every single driver who brings their own kart will qualify into the event, as we have no limit of entrants and our most for one race has been 18… so please come and break that starting grid record! (The only possible exception that you can’t race is if you are a hazard to yourself or the other racers or can’t cover the entry/rental fees.)
5. Everybody is invited to bring their own food (or enough to trade and share if they wish), as the grills will be burning and you can cook anything you bring! We can’t give out free food and we aren’t selling food, so if you want to eat, bring your own.
6. Want to go into the points purse? You can win some money racing! That’s right… before the race, everybody can put as much money as they want into a points purse and combined with the 50/50, will be divided amongst the racers. The details and payouts will be determined based on how many people are willing to do it (strange to us that nobody seems to care about this… talk to Chris or Matt).
7. Also, please pre-order Klassic DVDs so that Chris knows how many to make; they are usually ready within 1-7 days.
8. If you attend only one race all year at Galletta’s, or plan to only race one more time in the 2006 season… then make it THE KLASSIC, as you not only score more points than several races combined, but you can win money from the points purse! This race will make or break an entire season… THIS ONE is the one that matters! Make it or it is all for nothing. Get ready, racers… GALLETTA’S KARTING KLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND IS HERE!!!! (Rain-date is Saturday October 7th.) Now on to the results to the last two events…

2004 – Matt Stevens (Galletta’s #3)
2005 – Matt Stevens (Galletta’s #3)
2006? – Maybe… you? Decided the next race!!! BE THERE!

NEWSFLASH! This just in; Matt and Chris are pretty good! Can you beat them? TRY THIS WEEKEND!

History Lesson: Matt and Chris have been racing Go-Karts since 1989 or 1990 or so, when Matt bought his first Go-Kart at the tender age of 13 or 14, which has been rebuilt several times and is now known as “that damn red #3 that he always wins in.” Chris then bought a former Thunder Island frame and numbered it #1, but after proving that it was too heavy to compete with Matt’s lighter frame, it was stripped and its parts were rebuilt into the #2 (which Chris won the 1999 track championship and Klassic in, and now Fred Collins rents on a weekly basis). Then the Galletta’s carting crew got a Manco mail-order kart, which Chris drove for a short time, but it was then rebuilt a time or two and became the #4 that Ogre drives. The first few years were just Chris, Matt, and Wes with the occasional friends and relatives joining the action. As the years went on, more and more karts were built… the #1 (that our cousin Brian Galletta drove for years), the #5 (which Chris won 2 Championships and Klassics in, and now Robbie Jimenez rents on a weekly basis), the #6 (orginally meant to replace Matt’s #3, but it never did), the #7, the #0 (a junked kart that was rebuilt), the #8 (which Chris has adopted full-time because Robbie drives the #5), and now Matt has built a new #33, and is undecided on whether or not he will drive his fast new kart or his old trusty reliable #3. With more karts came more renters, and several people who bring their own karts. Yet in the 12 years of racing, Matt has won 8 championships and Klassics, and Chris has won 3 Championships and Klassics. Nobody has been able to beat them yet. Will Matt keep his streak alive? Will Chris interrupt another one of Matt’s streaks? Or will a renter or invading kart team pull an upset? Every year the competition seems to get better and better. And in such a long race… ANYTHING can happen. Be there for THE KLASSIC!!!

On a sad note, Robbie Jimenez’s grandfather/Kris Pitsley’s father passed away this week. We at Galletta’s pass our condolences along to all of the family, and your comfort is in our prayers. Kris Pitsley will be allowed back to view the Klassic race with the repayment of lost rental & 50/50 fees under her watch (somewhere in the $25-50 range; I lost track already so ask Matt, because he had to borrow money from his family to repair all the broken parts on the rental karts due to those lost funds), she stays absolutely quiet, stops fighting people, gets Bill & his family and/or others to come to the Klassic, and apologizes to everybody that she has offended before the race. If this does not happen, then she cannot come to the festivities. This is the only fair thing to do based on the opinions of multiple people. And if she fights with one person, she must leave the premises immediately. Kris may feel that this is unfair, but most of the drivers feel that this is very lenient due to her arguing/fighting with many people over the last year. It is one of the most important rules at our track! No fighting!

REMEMBER… WE RACE ON SATURDAYS NOW, SUNDAY IS NOW ONLY A RAIN DATE! WE RACE THROUGH OCTOBER (WEATHER PERMITTING – THIS YEAR SHOULD BE LATER DUE TO NEW WATER DRAINS). AND KLASSIC IS THIS SATURDAY, WITH ROSTER SIGNUP/TIME TRIALS/OPEN GRILL WILL BEGIN SHORTLY AFTER NOON! SO STOP BELLYACHING ABOUT WE GET OUT TOO LATE AND COME! BE THERE OR B-A-LOSER! HA! AND DON’T BE AFRAID OF A FIGHT BECAUSE THERE IS NO FIGHTING TOLERATED ON OUR PROPERTY! FIGHTING = KICKED OFF PROPERTY! RULE OF “QUEEN MARE.” ALL 5HP RACERS ARE INVITED! RACERS TAKE PRIORITY OVER HELPERS; MATT, CHRIS MARY AND WES ARE THE BOSSES! IF YOU DON’T OWN A 5HP MOTOR, TRY TO TIME TRIAL QUALIFY AND RENT ONE OF OURS! DON’T WUSS OUT!!!!

Also, check out the new “Seabrook Racing” website! Great sites with many pictures from our karts, racers and racetrack on it! We hope Howard and Co. can make it for the race, as he is invited! What would the Klassic be without him? Everybody who stopped coming for unknown reasons are also re-invited! Even Derek! Even the 5.5hp/6.5hp OHV crew is invited (provided they have either 5hps or rent one of ours). EVERYBODY is wanted for this one… THE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE IS NOW! Howard S&@br00k R@c!ng, 000H Y&@#!!
