DVD Highlight YouTube Video
Posted on Summer 2012 by ChrusherComix StudiosWell look at that... IT GOT DONE 4 YEARS LATER!
Thanks to a wonderful program, better internet, and YouTube allowing more than 10-15 minute uploads, I retroactively uploaded our entire race DVDs to YouTube instead of painstakingly editing 10-15 minute highlight reels with crash-happy computer programs. WHEW! Enjoy!Race Results

Billy Ruggio held off all competitors in his #02 for his very 1st heat win. However, he celebrated too soon and almost lost, when he took both hands off the steering wheel coming towards the finish line and almost crashed into the starter tower. That would've probably lost him the race, as Chris, Brian, and Joe were nipping at his heels and probably would've all got by if he did hit the stand!

9/15/2012 - HEAT #2 (8-Laps/6-Drivers):
START: Pos. | Driver (Karts driven) | 2012 Wins |
I guess if your name is Bill, you win a heat today! Billy Truax took the Galletta's #7 to a heat win. Truax is only in his first month racing at Galletta's and is already looking very good out there! (And add a note to those who only race once or twice and then never come back and think we rig it... everybody starts slowly and gets better over time. Except quitters. And checking our to-date 2012 points list below and our all-time points, you can see all the drivers with 1-4 shows who did just that). Matt again had a helmet cam and the footage is good, but again, won't be great until we race in the daytime. Last minute builds of Brian Galletta's #13 and Eric Woolworth's #78 pushed us back just enough to dusk for this heat.

9/15/2012 - MAKE-UP (RETCON) CREDITS:
Retcon races are short hot-lap sessions counted as a race and designed for two functions: For rookie drivers to get some track time seasoning before entering the regular races, and for regular racers and veterans who missed an earlier race to make-up those races that they missed, and help get back into the points race without penalizing those who did race in that event. All drivers are scored in the earliest race they missed, retroactively counted as if they were in that race. Nobody should be racing exceedingly hard in these races, and almost none of the drivers are actually racing each other and they are often counted in entirely different races.
SCORING: Pos. | Driver (Karts driven) | 2012 Make-Up Feature Credit Earned
[NR] = Newbie Rookie (Inexperienced Rookie/Novice/Beginner/1st-Timer Driver) *Note: This one, since the season is winding down, each driver in attendance that missed a prior race was counted in one of the heats as a make-up race (the earliest race they missed). |

9/15/2012 - FEATURE (45-Laps/11-Drivers):
Eleven karts take the green flag!

Joey Sereno took a wild ride when the left front wheel came off. It pivoted into the ground and sent him into a tumble. He shook it off, threw on another wheel and got back out there.
Although Billy Truax (Galletta's #7) continued to show improvement and pulled away for most of the show, he started slowing down as the race progressed closer to the finish and Dave, Chris and Matt started gaining on him. Dave was holding off challenges from Chris and Matt, but when the #7 slowed badly one lap, the #81 plowed into Truax's kart in turn 2, Matt narrowly escaped in the low groove, blocking Chris, who came to a stop but tapped the bumper on the #81. Ogre decided that the tap was enough to send Chris to the rear, and if not for that, he would've inherited the lead. Even so, to add insult to injury, Wesley Stevens lack of knowledge on our own rules disobeyed that the originators of the wreck are always to go in last, and people collected are to restart in front of them (unless they have to go to the pits for a repair). Ogre placed Chris in back of everyone, which forced Chris to drive angry for the rest of the race. He did get back up to third, but not without a few close calls with some tire scrubbing through the field.
Meanwhile, during the race, Brian Galletta lost control and veered into the hot pit gate. However, in a lesson for all, a kid (nephew of one of the drivers) was seated in a lawn chair too close to the track and got clobbered. He was shaken up, but... THANK GOD... unharmed.
"Now I know what it's like to feel a Samoan Wrestler land on your lap." - Brian GallettaLesson... DO NOT STAND OR SIT TOO CLOSE TO A RACE TRACK WITHOUT ADEQUATE SHIELDING AND/OR SAFE PROTECTION!
