7/31/2016 – Kings of Harborfest are crowned: 'King Kong' Kevin Galletta & Partner Adam Lytle - Team 'You-Don't-Know-Where-You-Are' Take the Twin-30s!

It took eight weeks, but finally someone else was able to crack victory line besides Matt Stevens (3 wins), Chris Stevens (3 wins) and Kelly Miller (2 wins). Kevin Galletta ended a winless (and hell, FINISH-less) dry spell that lasted over a year with a victory in the 1st feature and a 2nd place in the 2nd. And Adam Lytle was the only one beating him to the stripe in feature #2. BEST BUDZ FOR-EVAH! While Chris, Matt and Kelly enjoy winning and getting top-threes, it's still good to see new faces in victory lane, but none of the three were even able to get near the front tonight. Everyone was strong and the points leaders just did not get it rolling. In fact, not just that, but Chris had a pretty nice little crash. Chris Stevens got the worst of it, as he (in an admittedly rookie move) watching the #9 roll off the track, he was unaware of the pileup in front of him and collided with the #12. Chris bruised his ribs on the #12's rear bumper, his inner thigh on the #8's steering wheel, and burned his left hand (melting through his armored racing glove) on the #12's header as seen here. Chris wears a good deal of protective gear and still got injured, and implores all to wear as much armor and protective gear as they can. Kevin Galletta took the lead the rest of the race, although a game Keith Raymond was there to pressure him if he made a mistake, but he didn't. On the last lap, Josh Arnold in the #93 drifted too high and smashed retaining wall tires onto the track. Starter Wesley Stevens did not see the incident, and the rest of the drivers were under caution for part of the lap, then raced to the finish, and the #93 lost two spots on the last lap. 1st 30-Lap Feature - FINISH: 1. SCORING NOTES: - 1st 30 laps, #43 is Kelly Miller, #7 is Mike Patak, vice versa in 2nd 30 laps. - There was no kart-change penalty to Chris Stevens, as green flag to lap 1 did not drop before the #4 stalled. He ran the #8 in all 30 completed laps of both features, as the race did not start yet when the change occured. A kart change penalty is only given if you complete a single race using two karts (you can run a different kart each race with no penalty though). - A few close calls: The caution in 2nd feature, 33c and 93 made it through when #12 and #43 got stuck, it was close as they were side-by-side (#93 may have gotten by 1st), but #33c inherited the lead on the restart. That is a close call right there, could have gone either way. If the tape was reviewed, #93 may have inherited the spot, but he did wnd up with a flat tire later in the race as it was. No penalty will be given. - Another one was #2 was in the lead and brought out the caution, and some thought he should've gone all the way to the back, but if he got back on track before the yellow flew, then he was ok to keep his spot (ahead of #7 at the time, apparently). Tough calls right there, and I hate making them. I can't penalize anybody that's just the way it want. No penalty will be given.
