Visitor’s #18 Kart (& Stable)

2006GallettasEd — Ed Maynes in his #18. The kart was fast, yet still went through several rebuilds, but after a while, it seemed to get slower and Ed just abruptly quit.

Team Maynes Racing #18:
Ed Maynes stormed to a handful of impressive feature wins at Galletta’s and Oswego Speedway Kartways between 2004-06 in his #18 converted yard kart (sometimes painted neon green, occasionally pink, and sometimes silver).

He also built/adapted 3 more karts for his sons Chris & Ken, brother Rick, and/or his friend Jason Mills. He raced in around 90% of the races during between 2004-06:

Although having one of the better win percentages in Galletta’s History, Ed one day he got inexplicably mad in 2007, stormed off the track in a huff for no reason given, and we never saw him or his team of 4 karts. Ever again. Huh. If anyone has seen these karts, we have drivers looking to buy! Contact us. Thanks!

Who & What We Are
We race customized “1-WD backyard racing go-karts” every weekend from June through October on a dirt track behind Galletta’s Greenhouses in the Town of Oswego, New York, USA. While we’re mostly just a bunch of friends and family having some competitive fun, we’re always looking for more drivers to join us, and have arrive-and-drive karts on hand if you want to try it out!
