2022/10/15 – Pre-Klassic Tune-Up – “The Return of The Reuter” 25-Lapper +YouTube
Saturday, October 15th, 2022 – In our struggle to get both the weather (seasonably unpredictable as we go on in the Fall) and driver attendance (work conflicts, scheduling issues, people getting sick, people just getting sick of it, etc.) to align to have our Klassic, we didn’t want to waste yet ANOTHER pretty nice Saturday. We just don’t know how many we have left in 2022 and we lost most of our race dates all Summer to extremely poor driver attendance. So we held a small, but action-packed Pre-Klassic Tune-Up 25-Lapper, with one of the top guest drivers in GKC history, Kyle Reuter. And as the picture above shows, Kyle didn’t have much rust to shake off for his 1st race at Galletta’s in years…

Early on, Andrew Hook held strong in the Galletta’s #0, but when he got out of shape in turn 2, Chris, Matt, and Kyle all got by him.

Chris Stevens then led the way in the Galletta’s #8 until he too got out of shape in Turn 2, which enabled a hard-charging returning Kyle Reuter to take the lead in the Galletta’s #2, after the kart he started (Galletta’s #33c) lost a chain. Kyle also got by Matt after a failed pass attempt on his older brother a few laps prior. When Reuter also got out of shape in 2, Chris got stuck in the low groove unable to get a pass, and Matt then got him as well. The rest of the race had Kyle in the lead and holding off Matt for the win. Kyle proved that the #2 is fast once again, which stuns us as to why we can’t get more guest drivers to drive these things!
