Bio: One look at Nic’s Facebook — where he found us — shows he races pretty much anything pretty much anywhere! He also picked up Galletta’s style racing VERY quickly, as he won his 1st rookie makeup race and followed it up with his 1st regular feature win less than a month later, making his one of the fastest learning curves in Galletta’s Speedway History. He was also able to utilize Galletta’s Makeup Race System to not only get himself back into the points race, but also win BOTH the ’19 Visitor’s Points Title and Rookie of the Year and able to do so despite starting around mid-season! He also plans to make his own league of Dingo-type backyard kart racing as well and run both his and our club in 2020!

10/10/2020 – 25th Annual Galletta’s Klassic 200 – In Memory of Brian Galletta [+YouTube]

Saturday, October 10th, 2020 – Nic time trialed 10th in the Galletta’s Greenhouse Racing #1  via a time of 17.19. Nic was not on top of his game in the 2020 Klassic. He is usually a top threat to challenge for a win, but he didn’t make it to the finish due to exhaustion. MORE HERE!

9/6/2020 – Nicolas Olivares Wins 2 Weeks in a Row – a 12-Kart, Labor Day 45-Lapper 70-LAPPER?!

Sunday, September 6th, 2020 – 13-Karts, 45-Laps! No… due to cautions, 69 total laps! CLOSE, competitive, and FUN racing on a track that held up better than it has in MANY years (possibly ever)! BUT… unfortunately… it was also one of those nights with lots of cautions which greatly slowed the otherwise intense, back-and-forth action. But that shouldn’t take away from Nicolas Olivares’ 2nd Feature win in 2 weekends at Galletta’s! NOTE: It’s a busy work week month for the webmaster, so videos and points will come as soon as I have time! 9/23 UPDATE: Points are done and video too! Thanks and see ’em here!

8/30/2020 – Another Twin 25s Night! 15-Karts & Won by Nicolas Olivares and Chris Stevens [+YouTube]!

Sunday, August 30th, 2020 – Nicolas Olivares took the lead on the 1st lap of the 1st 15-driver/14-kart/25-lapper and led the entire race relatively unchallenged for his 2nd career regular feature win at Galletta’s (he also won the makeup point heat race). Chris Stevens then boarded the rocketship #4 and blew away the field in the 2nd 25-lapper (making it 2 for 2 since the engine was rebuilt after a blown rod it suffered during the 2019 Klassic). Nic The Quick in ’19!

Sunday, September 29th, 2019 – The 24th Annual Galletta’s Go-Kart Klassic 200 Lap 1-WD Championship of the Galaxy! Watch past Klassic Champions Chris Stevens, Matt Stevens and Kelly Miller battle it out for 200-laps with hard-charger newcomers Steve Sixberry, Nic Olivares, Zach Blanchard and several more! In addition, the Klassic usually determines the Annual Track Point Champion as well, which Chris needing to hold off Matt long enough and finish high enough to seal it. And we have it all here: Time Trials & The 24th Annual Galletta’s Go-Kart Klassic 200! (Spoiler Alert: Unsurprisingly, the top 5 of the Klassic were the top 5 in points as well!)

Nic was impressively competing for the lead in the Galletta’s #1 kart for a large portion of the 200, but after the #1 broke down while he was leading, he climbed into the Galletta’s #78. He recovered from his lap down (penalty for a kart change in the 200) and was again competing for the win, but once Matt Stevens took the lead, that was all she wrote. Between his performance in the regular season, and both his many Top-3 bonus point laps and his 5th place finish in the Klassic, he won both 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019 Visiting Driver Champion!

9/2/2019 – Labor Day Twin-25 Features won by rookies Nicolas Olivares & Greg Blanchard!

Monday, September 2nd, 2019 – We held a rookie make up race followed by a regular Twin-25 Lap Features for Labor Day ’19. And the two rookies who won the twin-25s — Nicolas Olivares and Greg Blanchard! The batch of rookies that have joined mid-summer are making big improvements weekly and any returning vets that mysteriously disappear will find that they will be hard-pressed to get any easy wins… when and if they ever come back. 8/4/2019 – All-Rookie Nite! Twin-15s & Another Flying Kart! [+YouTube]

Sunday, August 4th, 2019 – For some reason, ZERO regular veteran drivers showed up this week. While this would normally be a pretty big bummer, we had SIX 1st-timer rookies ready for action, so an all-rookie night it is! And they put on an entertaining show, with some good racing and a few funny incidents that include ANOTHER kart-hop accident right in front of our camera for the 2nd race event in a row. We may have gotten a few new regulars joining the veterans… that is… if the regular vets show up! Complete edited video with some contrast fixes and a 2nd camera from the rear turn and updated points are now up. More here!
