Zachary Blanchard | Driver Profile at Galletta’s (2019 – up)

Name: Zachary Blanchard

Years Stared at Galletta’s: 2019

Zach Attack!

Bio: Zac and his uncle Greg Blanchard are two members of Doug Didero’s Supermodified pit crew. Zac joined the club after his uncle tried it out and invited him up for a race. After that, was hooked and picked it up fast!

Career Highlights at Galletta’s: Scored a feature win in his rookie season at Galletta’s, and by finishing 2nd in the 2019 Galletta’s Klassic 200, he became the highest finishing rookie in the history of the event! Zac narrowly fell short to fellow rookie Nic Olivares for both the 2019 Visitor’s Champion AND Rookie of the Year!

Zac only raced n the opener in 2020, citing truck problems, but some speculate that a girlfriend may have put a stop to his racing (many a good driver has been lost through the years due to girlfriends and wives — not that the drivers would admit as much… but we’ve seen it too many times.

2019/9/29 – 24th Annual Galletta’s Greenhouse Go-Karting 200-Lap Klassic [+YouTube] … SPOILER ALERT- Klassic Top-5:

Sunday, September 29th, 2019 – The 24th Annual Galletta’s Go-Kart Klassic 200 Lap 1-WD Championship of the Galaxy! Watch past Klassic Champions Chris Stevens, Matt Stevens and Kelly Miller battle it out for 200-laps with hard-charger newcomers Steve Sixberry, Nic Olivares, Zach Blanchard and several more! In addition, the Klassic usually determines the Annual Track Point Champion as well, which Chris needing to hold off Matt long enough and finish high enough to seal it. And we have it all here: Time Trials & The 24th Annual Galletta’s Go-Kart Klassic 200! (Spoiler Alert: Unsurprisingly, the top 5 of the Klassic were the top 5 in points as well!)

Zach was incredibly patient in the Galletta’s Bros./Galletta’s Greenhouse #28 during the 200, and the took the opposite strategy and a slightly different result of fellow rookie competitor Nic Olivares had! He laid low for most of the race and turned it up late, and saved plenty of kart to pull off a tremendous Klassic run. Proving difficult to pass all season, he held on for 2nd in the 200 (only the All-Timer multi-time Klassic Champion Matt finished ahead of him) and that meant the highest finish for a rookie in a Galletta’s Klassic ever! Galletta’s #1 kart for a large portion of the 200, but after the #1 broke down while he was leading, he climbed into the Galletta’s #78. He finished 4th in the 2019 Galletta’s Point Standings and was a narrow 2nd to eventual 2019 Rookie of the Year and 2019 Visiting Driver Champion, Nic Olivares in a tough 3-man battle for both of those titles!

8/25/2019 – Twin-25 Features won by rookies Zach Blanchard and Randy Baldwin!

Sunday, August 25th, 2019 – Rain unfortunately set us back last weekend (and it was really a shame, as the track looked to be in better shape than it had been for maybe over a year). But it certainly held up reasonably well this week as well, as we had some nice, even racing in store! Again had a handful of rookies but… oh so scarce on vets. With only a few of ’em, the rookies have been getting a lot of track time in and two more of them picked up impressive feature wins — Zach Blanchard and Randy Baldwin! More here!
