Galletta’s Greenhouse Racing Team Kart #4

The Galletta’s #4 has had many drivers, but Chris Stevens has racked up the most wins in it.
Galletta’s Greenhouse / OswegoSushi.com – R&C Sushi LLC / Chrusher.com Racing Team #4: Originally a Manco yard kart purchased new for the club new the 1990s and rebuilt several times in the 1990s by Wes and Matt Stevens. Although it was occasionally rented out from time to time, it has mostly been driven by Matt Stevens, Wes Stevens and Chris Stevens–the latter two being its primary drivers.
Wes Stevens had good times in the kart when he won the 2006 Galletta’s Greenhouse Klassic 150 and the controversial 2008 Oswego Speedway Kartway Gas Stocker Kart Classic, but also had bad times, as he was violently flipped in the kart by a rookie and injured in the 2007 Galletta’s Klassic. Chris then resumed using it as his primary backup kart [after as a rental, beginner rookies started wrecking it too much (which is typical, and completely the reason they don’t win and nothing to do with the actual kart)]. Chris has since picked up many wins in the kart, and finally scored an elusive Galletta’s Klassic 200 win in it in 2017.

Additional Highlights in the Galletta’s #4 Kart
Fun Facts: The red with yellow number #4 was painted to look after one of Matt and Chris’ favorite Supermodifieds, the Doug Didero/Skip Matczak #4 (which was a clone of the #3 and only seen with that number in 1997 Oswego Classic 200) that dominated the Speedway and won 3 track championships and a Classic 200 in the mid-1990s. Chris added flames inspired by Generation One Transformers Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime.
Sponsors: While every kart built/rebuilt and owned by the Stevens family for racing at Galletta’s Backyard Speedway is technically a Galletta’s Greenhouse Team kart, primary driver Chris Stevens picked up additional sponsors–well, not really, because it’s just him. Chrusher.com is Chris’ sequential artist/graphic novelist/cartoonist home site (that also hosts this entire website itself), and oswegosushi.com is the home of Chris and his wife’s R&C Sushi Bar LLC at SUNY Oswego from 2011-up (and formerly also Oswego Price Chopper’s Sushi from 2011-2015). Shameless plugs, yes, but hey… advertising is advertising.
