2010 Season, Event #6- Sunday, July 11th, 2010 – Driving the Galletta’s Greenhouse #6 kart, George Russell, won his 1st feature race at Galletta’s Sunday. He became the 7th different winner of 7 features so far this season at Galletta’s, including the 5th 1st-time first feature winner so far at John J. Galletta Memorial Karting Speedway. The racing, again, is just so close (the karts are closely matched, the drivers are all experienced, and the handicap system has been working wonders) that passes are rare and starting handicapped up front is vital for your chances. George took the lead on lap 2 from starting in 3rd place via a pass for the lead on an early restart. Here he poses with his son, Shadoe, who won a 5-lap make-up race – his career first win as well. Galletta’s Karting Club – 2010 Season, Event #6 – Sunday, July 11th, 2010:

Before the heats, we held another 5-lap Make-up race, which enables drivers who have missed races (due to work, family, travel, special occasions) to make-up points and stay in the points championship. They are credited as being tagged on at the end of the show that they missed accordingly. What made it extra exciting is that Shadoe Russell drove a strong race from the pole and won, proving how the Doe man is making great strides and improving all the time!
