Built from scratch in 1999 by Wes and Matt Stevens, the black-and-purple #1 has had a long history of crazy accidents with various drivers. Often available as a rental kart on most weekends. For years it seemed as if it never could get into victory lane unless Matt Stevens drove it, but in recent years, Nicolas Olivares and Chad Crouse won features piloting it.
Galletta’s Greenhouse Racing Team #1 was built from scratch in 1999 by Wes and Matt Stevens and given a slight rebuild with ideas from Buddy Cottom in 2009. The #1 has had a long history of crazy accidents with various drivers (many of which were from Brian Galletta), but also a few wins. Chris Stevens and Kyle Reuter once piloted it to impressive Klassic runs. Often available as a rental kart on most weekends. It seems as if it never can get into victory lane… unless Matt Stevens drives it, and he often uses the #1 to prove a point — that he can beat ANYBODY in what many casual racers deemed the worst vehicle on the track. And boy, it’s humiliating!
Extended History
Pictures of the #1 when it was first built in 1999… before years of dirt racing and the many accidents ruined the paint job! The kart sports a black-silver-and-purple paint job inspired by the Generation One Transformers Skywarp… although it can barely be made out anymore.
