Galletta's Karting Club

2010 Season, Event #7- Sunday, July 18th, 2010 – Driving the Galletta’s Greenhouse #9 kart, Jeff Tetro, won his 1st feature race at Galletta’s Sunday.  He became the 8th different winner of 8 features so far this season at Galletta’s, including the 6th 1st-time first feature winner so far at John J. Galletta Memorial Karting Speedway. The racing is so close that handicapping and staying out of accidents are critical more so than any other year in our 20 year history of racing Karts at Galletta’s! 15-karts large — even without three regular drivers being unable to race this week — our heats are amazingly have more karts than most other local karting classes features! And the competition is VERY close, bumper-to-bumper all season so far! Not bad for $500-700 racing karts on a free, donation-run backyard speedway, huh? Sorry for the delays in the page’s update – driver/web-man/video-man/stat-man Chris Stevens here had a wisdom tooth extraction Monday morning that laid me up for about a day. Now let’s get to it:

Sadly, points leader Tim Galletta missed the show to spend more time with his wife and kids (his 1st race missed since the All-Galletta’s race in 2009), so not only did he lose his season-long stranglehold on the lead, but he was unable to debut his Sid Harvey #54 kart (formerly the original Dick Dann #86 kart slightly rebuilt), which looks sharp and fast! He will be eligible for a make-up race (which was meant exactly for situations such as these) and scored at the end of the event he missed.

Speaking of debuting slightly re-built and re-painted former Dick Dann mobiles, AJ Nason debuted his wonderful new decal-job by his wife on his Hammerd #35 (formerly the Destroyer Dann Racing #68). Great job, AJ and crew! Plus, Randy Platt also debuted his own motor on the Galletta’s Greenhouse #2 kart until he gets his own chassis to plant it on, and it proved again to be yet another fast power-plant built by Matt! The feature went as follows:

DVDs are available of every single Galletta’s Karting Club race held since mid-2005 at Galletta’s (including every Galletta’s Klassic since 1998, and every Oswego Kartway race between 2007-2008) and are of DVD-Quality (far superior to the YouTube videos, which are edited and compressed for time) for $5 per disc. Each disc contains between 1-2 hours of racing action, usually from two camera angles, complete and unedited.
