6/17/2017 – FINALLY… The 22nd Annual Galletta’s Go-Kart Points Season Opener Has Come Back… To OSWEGO! 70 Laps via Twin 35s! Josh Arnold & Matt Stevens win!
Saturday, June 17th, 2017 – Due to several setbacks (including no track vehicle), we missed the first two weekends of our usual race season. However, thanks to Brian Galletta and his Jeep, we can FINALLY get the season started. Saturday evening was the goal instead of our usual Sunday (for Father’s Day & avoiding possible showers), and TWO features were in store to make up for the two-week delay. The Arnie #93 driven by owner Josh Arnold passed Mike Patak (who later went on for a WILD flip) to win the 1st Feature, while in the 2nd feature, Matt Stevens stormed into the front and never looked back in the Galletta’s Greenhouse/Chrusher.com Frankenfreak #74! Two week delay?!
Sunday, June 4th, 2017 – The 22nd Annual Galletta’s Go-Kart Points Season Opener was delayed. As the regular drivers were already aware — but we wanted to pass it on to possible newcomers/outsiders — due to the late greenhouse busy season, the somewhat cold and rainy Spring thus far, and lack of a work truck to drag and roll the track, our season has been delayed at least one week. This occasionally happens when we are behind and/or weather takes it’s toll. Looking forward to seeing you all then!
Sunday, June 11th, 2017 UPDATE:
Due to greenhouse season and the fact that our track workhorse truck broke down (and may be out for the count), our season opener may STILL be in jeopardy for the 2nd week in a row. If you have a truck to pitch in and help with track work (at least until we get either a replacement or a repair done), free kart rentals are up for grabs for truck usage and reduced rentals or entries for pitching in as well. This would be the 1st time in memory that the Galletta’s Karting season opener would be postponed two weekends in a row, and we’d like to start, but Matt’s hands are tied. THE RETURN OF MATT’S HELMET CAM!! Chris got his bro a new SD card for Christmas and Matt’s helmet cam is back!
Lap 29 saw Mike Patak and Josh Arnold hook bumpers. Breaking free, Patak lost control in 2 and took a nice flip. Mike may be trying to give Barrelin’ Brian Bortel a run for his throne as king of the Barrel Roll flips (one small example can be seen in this classic footage from 2005, shortly before he snapped and attacked Kelly Miller!)!
