Rick Maynes is the brother of Ed Maynes (one of the highest scoring racers at Galletta’s in the mid-2000s).
Rick drove one of his brother’s Team Maynes karts in several races at Galletta’s and Oswego Speedway Kartways, running well up front and showing potential as a probable future Feature Winner before abruptly retiring.
When asked why, Ed was as cryptic as he usually was, but did imply some anger issues and unable to race weekly or something something. But, apparently ‘not racing every week’ quickly evolved ‘never raced again’. Oddly enough, Ed himself did the same the following season, prophetically for what appeared to be same issues.
