Galletta’s Karting Club – 2009 Season, Week 5:
The Gas Flathead Championship Series of Oswego, NY continued on
Sunday, July 12th, 2009 at John J. Galletta Memorial Speedway:

“Us Hockeys Don’t Puck Around!”

Russell Hockey won a 50-lapper on July 12th, 2009, his 2nd career win. Russ dominated most of the event, holding off several charges by Buddy Cottom late in the race via traffic. 8 competitors (all veterans) made for a rather quick race, with only a couple of cautions for debris and a spin. This makes for 6 different winners in 7 features so far this season at Galletta’s. All this and flower beds too, to all the flower-phobes out there, a condition I didn’t even know existed until 

recently!

This particular weekend, we only had 8 drivers, but being all veterans (all between 2-14 years of experience), we had only a couple of cautions in our 50-lap Feature race. Russ Hockey took the win, the 2nd of his career, and proving just how competitive our karting class is, his win makes 6 different winners in 7 features so far in 2009!

We had SIX potent, feature-winning Galletta’s Karts sitting unused in the garage ready for people to hop in them and race. We are always looking for people interested in racing with us (every Summer Sunday and usually once a weekend in the Fall), so check out the website for info!
