9/27/2014 – Chris Stevens wins the “Welcome Back Karters!” 40 in the Chrusher.Com/Galletta’s/R&C Sushi #4 +YouTube

But first, we had a few weeks of problems with driver attendance…
9/6 – 9/20/2014 – Races Planned… but no drivers show…?
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th – 20th, 2014, OSWEGO, NY – Due to cold/wet weather, the birth of webmaster Chris Stevens’ child, a severe lack of drivers and camera operators, and all-new ways for drivers to quit or unintentionally be forced out due to scheduling conflicts, our race season hinges on people showing up for race day, and for it to be a day when the weather cooperates. We plan to run anytime between 3pm and 4pm Saturdays and finish well before dark, but where are the drivers? We only have a handful of regular drivers and need more. We do not run without more than 6 or 7, preferably 8-18! Yes, that’s not all classes, that’s ONE class on the same track at the same time. If you raced with us before, we have more karts than butts and we’d like you back (minus a small few who quit the club under bad circumstances, and they know who they are). If you want to get into it, now is the time, as we have plenty of karts and no drivers. If interested, here is how to enter, and to find out when we race and how many karts are available, contact us at 315-343-0879 and ask Matt about the next kart race.
9/24 – 9/27/2014 – Lilybeth Stevens wins the 1st Annual Lilybeth Birthday Bash
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27th, 2014, OSWEGO, NY – Lilybeth Stevens took her brand-new Minnie Mouse Quad vs. thin air to score the win. Pictured here with her proud papa allowed in the picture, Oswego Karting Living Legend Matt Stevens.
9/27/2014 – Chris Stevens wins the “Welcome Back Karters!” 40 in the Chrusher.Com/Galletta’s/R&C Sushi #4
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27th, 2014, OSWEGO, NY – Nearly a month passed before enough drivers were rounded up to have a finally race (unlike many pay tracks around, we prefer 10-20 karts on track and not limit to 1-9 kart classes). And it was Chris “Chrusher” Stevens who collected his first feature win in over a year! Despite Chris being the 2013 Galletta’s Defending Track Champion (and, we all know, that means Overall Oswego Karting champ), it took over a year for the drought to finally end for the the leading feature-winner of 2013. It wasn’t pretty, either, as after early leader Keith Raymond spun out, it was the Chris and Matt show. The brothers are bare none the most experienced and accomplished karters in Oswego, and pay track drivers routinely embarrassingly expose the fact that they have shriveled empty scrotums by not racing at Galletta’s to face them along with the other fine active karters that we have racing with us. Let us examine the action, shall we?
40-Lap Feature:
START:
1. Keith Raymond (Raymond Racing #88)
2. [Elected to start last] Melissa Stevens (Scissors n’ Fur #19)
3. Chris Stevens (R&C Sushi Bar LLC / Chrusher.com / Galletta’s Greenhouse #4)
4. Brian Galletta (Galletta Racing #28)
5. Adam Lytle (Lytle Racing #33c)
6. Matt Stevens (Galletta’s Greenhouse #33)
7. Branden “Tumor” Matott (Galletta’s/Mattot #187²)
8. Raymond “RaYzor” Cadildo (Galletta Racing #54) *
9. Lilybeth Stevens (Minnie Mouse Quad #Tootles) – DNS **
* = Ray started the race, via taking a backwards practice lap. He pulled before the regular start. But per Galletta’s rules… we’ll count it.
** = Lillers scored ceremonial start due to entering her birthday bash practice session with her daddy at first, then herself on her birthday vehicles.
Much of the early race was dominated by Keith Raymond and Chris Stevens. But Keith spun out in turn one and was blasted in a head-on-collision by Brian Galletta, which essentially ended their evenings with demolished front ends.
Matt and Wes Stevens were extremely proud of their week-long work done to the Galletta’s / Tumor kart, the #187². It is NOW race-ready, and just in time for the big show. Tumor took it EXTREMELY easy in it and would up 3rd, as although getting lapped, only 3 karts made it to the end. We cannot wait to see it in action next race at the 19th Annual Klassic 200!
After early leader Keith Raymond spun out, it was the Chris and Matt show. The brothers are bare none the most experienced and accomplished karters in Oswego, and pay track drivers routinely embarrassingly expose the fact that they have shriveled empty scrotums by not racing at Galletta’s to face them along with the other fine active karters that we have racing with us. The duo pulled away from the rest of the pack and while Matt showed a wheel to Chris a few times, it was otherwise a two-kart train. We are waiting for the alleged pro karters around to show up and test them, but just as it has been for the majority of the last 8 years, we know the answer to that. It rhymes with “lunch of mussies”. Ha!
However, Matt blew a tire with a few laps remaining and it was Adam Lytle who inherited 2nd place and stayed close to the eventual winner Chris. Only three karts finished under the checker, and one of them – Branden “Tumor” Matott – was taking it easy testing his newly rebuilt kart and went a handful of laps down doing so.
FINISH:
1. Chris Stevens (R&C Sushi Bar LLC / Chrusher.com / Galletta’s Greenhouse #4)
2. Adam Lytle (Lytle Racing #33c)
3. Branden “Tumor” Matott (Galletta’s/Mattot #187²) = 4 laps down
4. DNF – Matt Stevens (Galletta’s Greenhouse #33)
5. DNF – Keith Raymond (Raymond Racing #88)
6. DNF – Brian Galletta (Galletta Racing #28)
7. DNF – Melissa Stevens (Scissors n’ Fur #19)
8. DNF – Raymond “RaYzor” Cadildo (Galletta Racing #54)
9. DNS – Lilybeth Stevens (Minnie Mouse Quad #Tootles)
Scoring: Again, starter Wes miscounted the laps. We went 42 (instead of the scheduled 40), and 45 counting three cautions. Well, since we ran ’em, and we had more than 8 drivers, then I’ll count ’em! Fer cryin’ out loud, Wes! Do we need to put you back in a kart and let someone else count the laps?! Holy smokes!
