6/7/2015 – 20th Galletta’s Greenhouse Karting Season Season Opener won by Chris Stevens!
SUNDAY, JUNE 7TH, 2015, OSWEGO, NY – Our 20th Season of Points Racing at Galletta’s Greenhouse Backyard Karting Speedway has arrived! An 8-lap rookie race at 7pm was followed immediately by a 50-lap feature with 11-drivers (the largest single karting class in the area), which saw a bit of a surprising beginning. Chris Stevens got a great start when the green flag dropped and went from 5th to 1st and led all fifty laps en route to his 2nd opening night win in three years. The Galletta’s Greenhouse / Chrusher.com / R&C Sushi Bar LLC #8 looked fast all night, as head mechanic Matt Stevens scoring 2nd in the Galletta’s Greenhouse #33 noted. Driver Chris Stevens said, “The #8 must’ve been itching for a race all winter, as my brother Matt had it set up nice for the Klassic 200 when the rear axle broke on lap 0. I ran the #0 into 2nd that day, and it was very strong, but man, this #8 made me think of what it could’ve done. Would’ve been fun to drive it and see! Now I finally get to pose in victory lane for the first time with my baby Faith Marie.” Raced started at 7:00 pm and concluded at 8:20 pm. 11 drivers filled 23 on-site karts. Thank you all who came and look forward to seeing you all back and more every week! Read on for the updated race page (and check back soon for the 1st YouTube video in 4 seasons!).

Our 20th Season of Points Racing is HERE – June 7th 2015 Opener!
Our 20th Season of Points Racing is HERE! Our opener is scheduled for SUNDAY, June 7th, 2015 at Galletta’s Greenhouse Backyard Speedway in OSWEGO, NY! As seen in the above picture, we have TWENTY-THREE ‘arrive-and-drive’ karts on track to rent-to-race, and while many competitors to race against, most of theses extremely close and affordable hybrid racing yard karts don’t have drivers. Join us every Sunday late afternoon/early evening from June 2015 through August for our regular summer schedule, and then every Saturday afternoon all September until our point finale – our 20th annual 200-Lap Klassic! at Galletta’s Greenhouse Backyard Speedway is ready to begin.
Where else can you race for gas-and-parts pocket change weekly in competitive racing karts and hone your skills against the two most-experienced karters in Oswego, NY — Galletta’s Karting Club founders and brothers Matt and Chris Stevens who have combined for 212 Feature wins out of 363 feature events the duo has run on both Galletta’s and Oswego Kartway racing against 258 different drivers between the mid-1990s to now! You haven’t truly raced in a go-kart race in Oswego, NY until you have raced against whom many refer to as the “Galletta’s Brothers”. And you can’t say you truly won one unless you win one with them on the same track.
We are excited to announce that today at 7pm is opening race for the 20th Point Championship Season of the Galletta’s…

Pre-Season Announcement:
Our 20th Annual Points Racing Season begins May 31st, 2015 at 7 pm. We will run weekly on Sunday (with Saturdays as a preemptive rain date) starting at 7 pm (but as the summer winds on, we can start earlier).
Every race is scheduled to be a points race, and each race with at least 8 competitors (which, due to there being 3 charter drivers who are in every race, there are only a mere 5 visiting drivers needed to fill this requirement) will be counted for points.
Most weekly races are 8-10 lap qualifiers (new rookies always get a few laps practice and then qualifiers, veterans vote on a week-by-week basis for heats or skip to the feature) and every week concludes with a feature event (most weeks it is a single 45 or 50 lap feature, but occasionally we run twin 30 or twin 35 lap features).
The season concludes in late September with our 200-lap points finale “Klassic Championship” race. The tally of every summer points show combined with the 200-lapper will decide the annual points champion.
There is no kart limit at the track, and we have over 20 karts available on-site to be rented (for a nominal gas + parts donation) or purchased on a week-by-week basis or for the entire racing season.
