7/10/2016 – Chris Stevens Again Emerges on top after Leaders Drop off for 2nd Week in a Row!
Sunday, July 10th, 2016, Week 5 – Another great race was in store as a 13-kart / 45-Lap Feature Event went down. Track was a little better than last week, but still had some bumps in turns 1 and 3 that created problems for all. And for the 2nd week in a row, a few capable 1st Year Drivers battled for the lead but via failed pass attempts, breaks and a wreck while up front, and Chris Stevens emerged on top. This makes a unique string of feature wins this season for the 1-2-3 points leaders: Kelly Miller won 2-in-a-row, Matt Stevens won 2-in-a-row, and Chris Stevens won 2-in-a-row. Something’s gotta’ give, and any one of those 1st year drivers or veterans is sure to break into Victory Lane soon. Or will one of the top three in points get back up front again? Great season thus far!

Scoring notes: As you can see in the above chart, #93 and #2 earned more points than the top two finishers via bonus points – laps scored in the top three positions add up. Penalties: #1 switched to #6 for the standard -5 point kart change penalty (he was also a couple of laps down in the feature due to a breakdown, hence the orange), and #43 lost a standard -5 points for a failed kamikaze move in turn one that caused an accident.
