2018/08/12 – Josh Arnold wins 20-Lap Makeup-Race [YouTube]
Sunday, August 12th, 2018 – For the 2nd week in a row, we had track and karts ready to go early–and only two drivers showed up, so we had a makeup race.
Makeup Race START – 20 laps:
1st. Josh Arnold (Arnie Racing #93)
2nd. Matt Stevens (Galletta’s Greenhouse Racing #1)
3rd. (R) Stephen James (Galletta’s Greenhouse Racing #2)
(R) = 1st time rookie
With so few drivers and laps on track, it’s usually tough to get even a single position change. The race finished as it started.
Makeup Race FINISH – 20 laps:
1st. Josh Arnold (Arnie Racing #93) – Earned 10th in 7/22/2018‘s 30 & 25-lappers (50 & 41 pts.)
2nd. Matt Stevens (Galletta’s Greenhouse Racing #1) BANKED BONUS POINTS
3rd. (R) Stephen James (Galletta’s Greenhouse Racing #2) 15th in 6/10/2018‘s 25-Lapper (+25 pts.)

NOTES: As usual, handicap inverts via primarily wins and points. Tiebreakers are as follows:
(1) Current Season Wins (tie-breaker is Current Season Points-Per-Race)
(2) Current Season Points-Per-Race (tie-breaker is total points)
(3) All-Time Wins (tie-breaker is weight)
(4) Returning veteran drivers start in the rear of current season’s handicap (inverted by the tie-breakers of (a) all-time wins or (b) weight, and in front of newbie rookies)
(5) Drivers without enough on-track experience–we call them Newbie Rookies–start in the back (until they AND their fellow competitors feel you can hold a solid line and race clean without incidents and accidents), handicapped by weight.
(6) Choice. One can choose to start in either their handicapped start OR the rear.
(7) 1-Lap-for-points drivers start in dead last and are to leave the track safely on the 1st possible pass or an open pit gate.
Reminder: Photobucket sucks:
<-This site used Photobucket from 2006-2018 for our pictures. That changed when they decided to extort users top-dollar to use their own photos on their own website. I could see a light watermark, or small fee… but this is ridiculous. Bye, Photobucket.
With a handful of really good exceptions, for the last year, our weekly driver attendance has been the poorest it has been in around fifteen years. We understand that sometimes people can’t make it (money, work, family, disinterest, so on) and appreciate it when they tell us so and at least give a, honest, sensible and logical reason, but what’s worse is people tell us they are coming to race to our faces repeatedly… then don’t show.
They tell us start at a certain time and they’ll come, then don’t show. They’ll say for real, this week they’re coming… then don’t show. To our faces just less than 24 hours before race time, they tell us all about how they and a few people are coming, and… you’ll never guess what happened next, but they don’t show.
This means we schedule a race and then are left with a watered track and gassed karts. We’d appreciate honesty and people sticking to their words, but to say we’re shocked that it happens is nowhere near true. More like–extremely disappointed and find it hard to trust anybody at their word. I’d name names, but it’d do no good. It’d likely just keep happening. One even had a nickname “The body” no, “The Liar”, and he once asked us why it was on this website, but yet he lived up to it yet again. Still wonder why? Honesty, folks; Sticking to your word; Telling people the truth; communicating… it seems real simple, yet. Nope.
Sorry for the rant, but at least we got a makeup race in.
